Yes, Hugo is correct. There were performances of AIDA in Dublin's Point Theatre on 29 and 30 September 1994, in advance of the studio sessions for the NAXOS recording also conducted by Rico Saccani [and featuring a chorus of 700 voices!]. Maria Dragoni and Kristián Johánnsson did not want to sing their parts on consecutive evenings just prior to recording the opera in studio, so Wilhelmenia Fernandez and Bruno Sebastian were brought in for the 30 September performance. Dragoni was taken ill, and Fernandez ultimately sang the 29 September performance, as well. Her interpretation in the semi-staged performances was greatly acclaimed by the Irish press.
