Thank you! Yende's Amina is very interesting, and as is the case with Callas, a darker voice makes this role deeper, more moving. I'm listening to it and both her and Demuro are great. Excellent sound qualitty too, you're right.
However my main interest in Madrid Sonnambula is listening to Anduaga's Elvino. I saw him live in Puritani and was blown away by his voice's power, eveness and sheer beauty, aswell as his singing's ease. It was in Bilbao and unfortunately Elvira was not Oropesa but Jessica Pratt, whose uneven voice is not quite to my liking, although she sang very well. If they recorded Naples' Puritani cast in studio conditions, that would be a definitive version.
with Anduaga, it's easier to find that radio broadcast of Lakmé alongside Sabine Devieilhe, but he's not quite at the same level as in bel canto, or at least he was not that night. Keep an ear on him, anyway.

Amina is a role created specially for Giuditta Pasta who was famous for her enormous range and almost mezzo-like low register. So it is not a part for leggero as Yende or Oropesa, it is a role for dramatic coloratura with good vocal weight. And Yende voice is not dark at all, she is not even lyric soprano she is light leggero. Sierra tries to imitate this full bodied sound using ingolata singing but it actually doesn't help. She is typical soubrette. Elvino is a role written for Rubini so Anduaga hardly can sound good in this rep. He has so nasal, constricted emission and a lot of technical problems that's why he is so terrible in French rep which requires truly perfect sound. Demuro and Pratt are on the same vocal level so one can't enjoy Demuro and reject Pratt at the same time.
there's always this kind of people; they know better than anyone, all artists are flawed and singers in the past were so much better! and in this case his references are historical singers about whose voices we only have some vague descriptions...
In contrary, I'm an active opera goer, not just the collector of old recordings. You appeal to the favorite phrase of all modern listeners that we do not know how the famous singers sounded before the recording era. Actually, it is not difficult to understand that Rubini could not sound like Anduaga, because as a student of Nozzari he sang not only the extra-high tenor repertoire, but also the baritone roles, which means he had a dark, strong core and lower register. He had a hybride voice type just like Pasta. One have to know the history of opera and vocal techniques and be familiar with the score to understand it, in fact it has nothing to do with ''vague description''. There are modern singers who could be very fascinating in this rep, for example, I'd like to hear Kathryn Lewek as Amina, she has well developed upper and lower register and good agility. She really has the dramatic coloratura potential. Some good lyrical tenor with core not leggero as Anduaga could sing Elvino quite good. May be someone like Matthew Swensen, who has full registration and good vocal placement as his fabulous father had. I think even you'd feel the difference listening to such level of signing and may be understand the true Bellini's intentions as well as the real beauty of the music itself. Because music and the voices performing it are inseparable. it's a matter of style, technique, and the right vocal culture as well.
Excuse me, but I haven't banned enyone or anything, I can't because I'm not omnipotent and even if I were it is beyond my interests. Be reasonable please and if you haven't any arguments concerning opera singing I ask not to accuse me of something I didn't do.

Amina is a role created specially for Giuditta Pasta who was famous for her enormous range and almost mezzo-like low register. So it is not a part for leggero as Yende or Oropesa, it is a role for dramatic coloratura with good vocal weight. And Yende voice is not dark at all, she is not even lyric soprano she is light leggero. Sierra tries to imitate this full bodied sound using ingolata singing but it actually doesn't help. She is typical soubrette. Elvino is a role written for Rubini so Anduaga hardly can sound good in this rep. He has so nasal, constricted emission and a lot of technical problems that's why he is so terrible in French rep which requires truly perfect sound. Demuro and Pratt are on the same vocal level so one can't enjoy Demuro and reject Pratt at the same time.

In contrary, I'm an active opera goer, not just the collector of old recordings. You appeal to the favorite phrase of all modern listeners that we do not know how the famous singers sounded before the recording era. Actually, it is not difficult to understand that Rubini could not sound like Anduaga, because as a student of Nozzari he sang not only the extra-high tenor repertoire, but also the baritone roles, which means he had a dark, strong core and lower register. He had a hybride voice type just like Pasta. One have to know the history of opera and vocal techniques and be familiar with the score to understand it, in fact it has nothing to do with ''vague description''. There are modern singers who could be very fascinating in this rep, for example, I'd like to hear Kathryn Lewek as Amina, she has well developed upper and lower register and good agility. She really has the dramatic coloratura potential. Some good lyrical tenor with core not leggero as Anduaga could sing Elvino quite good. May be someone like Matthew Swensen, who has full registration and good vocal placement as his fabulous father had. I think even you'd feel the difference listening to such level of signing and may be understand the true Bellini's intentions as well as the real beauty of the music itself. Because music and the voices performing it are inseparable. it's a matter of style, technique, and the right vocal culture as well.
